Money-Fund Assets Increased $2.33 Billion in the Latest Week

WASHINGTON -- Money-market mutual fund assets rose $2.33 billion to $853.74 billion for the week ended Wednesday, from a revised $851.41 billion, the Investment Company Institute said. Assets of 665 retail money-market mutual funds increased by $2.22 billion to $590.46 billion, the trade group said. Among retail funds, assets of the 407 taxable money-market funds rose by $1.66 billion to $480.73 billion, while assets of the 258 tax-exempt funds increased by $557.5 million to $109.74 billion. Assets of the 305 institutional money-market funds increased by $108.7 million to $263.28 billion. Among institutional funds, assets of 243 taxable money-market funds fell by $1.02 billion to $233.53 billion, while assets of the 62 tax-exempt funds rose by $1.13 billion to $29.75 billion.
