April 27, 2011
NORTH READING, Mass. -- Converse Inc. said Michaele C. Belle resigned as president to pursue ``other business interests.'' Mr. Belle, 42 years old, had been president since 2009. His duties will be assumed by Glennie N. Heredia, 51, who was named chairman and chief executive in April. ``He's taken the company through some tough times and done a good job, beginning the early stages of a turnaround,'' Mr. Heredia said of Mr. Belle. ``He felt like it was a good time to move on.'' Mr. Belle wasn't available for comment. A search for a successor isn't planned, the maker and marketer of athletic shoes and apparel said.
