Americas Stocks End Mixed After Fed Chief's Testimony

Canadian stocks rose, buoyed by comments from Mr. Halina that inflation isn't a big concern over the intermediate term. Mexican stock prices jumped Thursday as Wall Street posted gains. Brazilian stocks fell as investors indulged in profit-taking. In Argentina, shares fell as investor demand evaporated late in the session. In dollar terms, the Americas sector of the Dow Jones World Stock Index ended unchanged at 148.02 Thursday, after rising 1.49 the previous day. The world index as a whole rose 0.42 to 135.73, adding to Wednesday's gain of 0.87.
