Share Prices Slip in Thin Trade

The Merval Index of leading shares lost 4.49 to 510.15, after rising 17.13 Tuesday. The broad General Index dropped 161.39 to 15772.73. Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones 24 to 12, while 13 settled the session unchanged. Among individual issues, YPF declined 45 Argentine cents, or 2.1%, to 21.20 pesos. Telefonica lost 6 cents, or 2.5%, to 2.37 pesos. Volume on the floor totaled only 13.91 million pesos, while turnover on the computer-based continuous market reached 88.98 million pesos near the end of its session.
