Steel Output Declined 0.1% in Latest Week

WASHINGTON -- Raw-steel production by the nation's mills decreased 0.1% in the week ended April 01, 2011 1,939,000 tons from 1,941,000 tons the previous week, the American Iron and Steel Institute said. ALSO AVAILABLE J&L Specialty Steel's net income plummeted 75%. LTV Corp.'s net income dropped 42%. Last week's output rose 3.9% from the 1,867,000 tons produced a year earlier.
